Good morning + IMPORTANT QUESTION, pt. 3!

I am so proud of the work all of you did last night - well done!

Now, for this morning. While the remaining stories are coming in, I want you to read:

This.

This.

This.

And, this.

When you are done with that, peruse the features in The New York Times. (Some nice ones I want you to check out: this movie review, this fashion story, this H&G story, this article on YouTube and child birth(!), this Danger Mouse review, and this article about trendy types shopping at Goodwill.

And don't forget to A: post a new blog and B: comment on another blog post.

What should you blog about? Anything, of course, but if you need a pointer, try writing about either any of the articles I linked to above....or write what it was like to write on deadline!

Finally, what I know you all are waiting for....IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!! You are on the red carpet of some kind of gala awards ceremony - it could be for actors, musicians, humanitarians, whatever. You are about to interview a gigantic star, probably one you admire. Where are you, who are you about to interview, and WHAT DO YOU ASK? (Please don't let it be, "Who are you wearing?") Go!

  1. (I like this question)
if i were to be able to interview anyone at a awards ceremony, it would probably be Lady Gaga at the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards. I admire her for her unshakable confidence in herself and strong work ethic. She wears what she wants to wear, says whatever is on her mind, and acts whichever way pleases her. It seems as if she truly doesn't care what anyone in the media or others think about her. when we meet, i would at first applaud her for her extreme achievments and I would ask her "How does it feel to be one of the only individuals left in Hollywood and how do you remain that way?". i would be interested in what her response would be and just to have the opportunity to meet her.

  2. If I were to be given the opportunity to interview attendees at the mets costume institute gala in NYC, it would be very difficult to chose just one person to talk to. It would be exceedingly difficult not to ask them who they are wearing because it is the costume institute gala and the clothing worn on that red carpet is the most fashion forward you'll see all year. Given the event, I would interview Anna Wintour. Wintour is the current editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine. Things that I would ask her:

    1. The struggling economy is effecting everyone, how can you reach out to Vogue readers and tell them that they don't need to spend as much on clothing and accessories when the survival of your publication is at stake?

    2. The struggling economy not only effects your readership, but you. As more and more printed publications are going under do you ever fear for your job?

    3. How do you feel about celebrity bloggers constantly ragging on your magazine?

    4. For most, money is tight right now, what staple items would you tell people to invest in?

    5. Are you worried about the growing competition from Elle magazine? They have been consistently out selling you on the newsstands and in terms of pages of advertisements.

    6. In your opinion, where do you think print media will be in 10 years?

    7. You are a journalist, so do you ever feel offended by the decreasing amount of integrity in the field of journalism?

    8. Who do you think will be the next big fashion icon/muse?

    9. And finally, who are you wearing? :)

------I could never ask any of these because she would own me and send me home crying....

  3. If I was on the red carpet I would interview Reese Witherspoon. The main reason is just because I love her and her work. She is an actress who takes her civic responsibilities seriously, is a good role model for girls, and has a strong family relationship. You never see her in the Hollywood drama and she is always calm and in control.
I would be at the Oscars, and what would I ask?

    1. How does she handle the pressures of Hollywood so gracefully?
    2. How does she remain out of the drama?
    3. And how is she raising her boys in the mass chaos of celebrity life?

  4. I would interview Dwight Howard at the post-Finals Championship Banquet (Doesn't exist?). After the Magic beats the Lakers by 15 points in the 7th game, everyone will be hounding the MVP Dwight Howard #12 for an interview. I would ask about his shocking victory over the Lakers and Cavs and how he felt about Lebron and Kobe as team leaders. I would ask to what he attributed the team's success this season/ post-season. How strong does he think the team will be for next year and what they still need to work on.
